"English Inn of the Year 2005" (Good Hotel Guide)
Paddy Burt, Daily Telegraph
"Where is this little gem? In a Dorset village called Farnham. Opposite the inn there is a row of 'roses round the door' cottages.
... after checking in we stroll across the hall to take a peek at the sitting room (a bonus, not all inns have them) and try out two large sofas which pass squashy test with honours.
... up to the top floor via a carpeted staircase- they believe in comfort here- good quality duvets and pillows, a few choice pieces of antique furniture. All very agreeable
...the bar - a large room with alcoves and cosy drinking areas is where the heart is. It's buzzy.
...looking through the menu we see there are so many delicious dishes that it is out of the 'how on earth do we choose?' variety.
...the atmosphere is great and so is the food
...breakfast, now the treats begin. Starched white cloths. Home made marmalade and raspberry jam with whole raspberries. Porridge gets the reverence it deserves, there are free range eggs, thick slices of proper toast"
Paddy Burt, Daily Telegraph
"The Museum has achieved almost legendary status in these parts... the menu reads like a shopping list of enticing ingredients ... there is a good cellar too, with keenly priced bin ends..."
