Service with a smile

From the East and London
Take the M3 Westbound and at junction 8, take the A303 as far as Andover. As the A303 bypasses Andover take the A343 signed to Salisbury. The A343 then joins the A30 shortly after Middle Wallop. On arriving in Salisbury take the ring road clockwise and leave Salisbury on the A354 signed to Blandford Forum.

After approximately 12 miles you will come to a large roundabout where the A354 bisects the B3081. Go straight over this roundabout continuing on the A354 for approximately 2 more miles - you will go down a gentle hill and pass the Inn on the Chase pub on your right hand side. You will then go up a hill and at the top of this hill by an old farmhouse you will turn right, signed for Farnham and Tollard Royal.

Proceed down this lane for about a mile and a half until you reach the village of Farnham. Shortly after a turning to the right which you ignore, turn left into the main body of the village, and The Museum is in the centre of the village just below the church. Parking is to the side and rear of the pub itself.

From the West
Take the A303 eastbound and pass the towns of Sparkford and Wincanton. Shortly after bypassing Wincanton, take the B3081 to Gillingham and then onto Shaftesbury. Leave Shaftesbury on the A30, heading towards Salisbury, and after approximately 3 miles you will drop down a steep hill into the village of Ludwell.

After passing the Grove Arms on your left, continue along the A30 though the village until, as you rise up hill, you will see a turning on the right signposted Tollard Royal. Take this turning which will bring you back onto the B3081, and continue heading for Tollard Royal.

You will drop down a steep hill into the village where the road is very narrow. Leave the village of Tollard Royal and continue on towards Sixpenny Handley, but after approximately 2 miles you will see a turning to the right signposted Farnham. This turning is by a large triangular piece of grass with some tall trees - take this lane for a further mile and you will arrive at the southern end of the village of Farnham.

Turn right and proceed up the village until you find the Museum Inn in the centre of the village, just below the church. Parking is to the side and rear of the pub itself.
